The 10th Anniversary of ISAE’s premier event, STAR Awards, is quickly approaching. This event recognizes excellence in association management and thanks volunteers who have supported ISAE throughout the year. We will be holding the event on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library. We are hoping to add a few extra special touches to make the night even more special for attendees.
We need your help in making this possible. We are asking our members if they would be interested in donating items for our Silent Auction. We are accepting any type of donation item for the silent auction. Here are a few examples of what we have received in previous years:

This is a great opportunity to purchase a table and invite your clients. Returning legislative lunch sponsors can take advantage of this opportunity for just $650!
NEW! Table Host Sponsorship-$150

Association News
Over the past two weeks, the association community has made a definite impact on the debate over the new OGE ban on trade association meetings. Administration officials have said that the final rule “depends on the evaluation of the comments” and "‘will be subject to changes’ based on feedback.” You have made your voice heard, with almost half of the submitted comments received and shared by OGE coming from the association community. If you continue to take a few minutes this week and reach out on this issue, we could make our voice heard that association meetings are social and economic drivers!
We will not win if you do not take action this week and next. Here are a few ways you can help win this fight; details and talking points can be found at our campaign website:

If you have not yet done so, submit your own comments to OGE with your association’s story on how the rules can impact you. Groups like the AUVSI, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association, and the Montana Telecommunications Association have already submitted these types of comments.

Reach out to Democratic members of Congress and ask them to sign this letter from Congressmen Jim Moran, Chris Van Hollen, and Gerry Connolly. We need Democratic members from around the country to join the letter and show the depth of concern over this proposed policy.

Ask your Democratic members of Congress to call the Office of Government Ethics and express their concern about the impact their proposed rule will have on association meetings. Their phone number is 202.482.9300 and you should ask to speak to Don Fox, Acting Director.
