What You Need To Know
FORM 1099 REPEAL AMENDMENTS FAIL IN SENATE:The Senate rejected two amendments Sept. 14 that would have alleviated onerous new Form 1099 reporting requirements for small businesses and associations, although the issue continues to hold sway with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
The two amendments were attached to a small business lending bill that the Senate passed on Tuesday. Both amendments failed despite bipartisan support for repeal of the provision, primarily because the offsets suggested to pay for repeal were not acceptable to enough legislators. CONTINUE READING
