May 10 – Lunch & Learn Webinar
Introducing Your Members to Advocacy
2016 was a landmark year in American politics: the United States elected Donald Trump to the Presidency ushering in the first unified government in six years. With President Trump’s stated desire to reform many aspects of American government, including the United States Tax Code, your association cannot afford to be sitting on the sidelines. Join ISAE for a look at how to prepare your members for advocacy using the ISAE Political Primer. This webinar will highlight the importance of political and issue-based advocacy for your members and guide you through adapting the Primer for your association’s use. This webinar will help you energize and inform your budding advocates and position your association to weather the uncertainties a new political landscape may bring.
After attending this session you will:
- Understand the basics of the Indiana legislative process and the rhythms of the legislative session.
- Know how to cultivate and develop a grassroots advocacy program for your association.
- Walk through one possible orientation for association advocacy.
- Understand some best practices for association advocacy and utilizing your lobbyist.
