ISAE welcomes back WISH-TV’s Scott Sander as this year’s STAR Awards emcee. He anchors WISH-TV’s Daybreak and also does work for several local charities and service organizations, including the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the Arthritis Foundation. Scott also partners with his wife at Mother of Pearls public relations firm. They offer media, public speaking and crisis communications training.
There will be a 50/50 drawing to help raise more money for the 2016 charities. Bring cash if you’d like to participate. Buy 1 ticket for $5 or 3 tickets for $10.
Snaptag is teaming up with STAR Awards to offer an exclusive demo. It will broadcast the photos you post to social media and print a photo for you. When you share a photo to your Instagram or Twitter account using the hashtag #ISAEStar2016, your photo will be instantly printed and is yours to take home. In order to participate, your social media account must be public.

Each year, a silent auction is held at STAR Awards to benefit a deserving charity. 100 percent of the 2016 proceeds (minus administration costs) from silent auction bids will be shared with two local east side organizations: the Felege Hiywot Center and Stop the Violence Indianapolis. The Felege Hiywot Center serves urban youth of Indianapolis, second generation Ethiopians in Indianapolis and orphans in Ethiopia. They teach gardening and environmental preservation and encourage youth to embrace the virtues of community service. Stop the Violence Indianapolis is dedicated to empowering people to take action to ensure safety, justice, accountability and healing. The organization assists others through education and a broader awareness of positive alternatives to gang violence and domestic violence. The two organizations have been working together this year on an inaugural eastside youth summit. The proceeds from the silent auction will be used to help fund the event next year.
Donations: We have started collecting items to be auctioned off at this year’s event. Listed below are some ideas of items we would like to include. Can you help by donating any of the following?
