In late 2008 member surveys and focus groups about the design, navigation and functionality of IPN’s 5-year old web site revealed that while the website housed excellent content, it was increasingly difficult to navigate and locate specific pages or documents of interest.  IPN attributed this development to a recent, rapid influx of new material that didn’t mesh with the site’s original navigational “blueprint.”  IPN embarked on a $25,000 web site redesign to reorganize site content based on the predictable needs of target audiences, improve internal and external search capability, and develop more sophisticated functionality to accommodate increasing event registrations, membership renewals and product orders online.  The fully functional site was launched in April 2009.  Within six months product sales had increased by 10% and a user survey revealed that nearly 90 percent of respondents could easily find what they were looking for on the site.
