About the Speaker:

Mark R. Mason grew up in Alexandria, Indiana. He joined the Indiana State Police in 1978 and was assigned to the Redkey Post. He spent 12 years assigned to the Investigation and later the Laboratory Division. He became the first Commander of the new Gaming Enforcement Section/Division when Casino Gaming was legalized in Indiana. This unit was the first investigative and enforcement entity assigned to the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Upon retiring from ISP, holding the rank of Major in 2003, He became the Director of Security at Argosy Casino, now Hollywood Casino. While there he served in various additional roles to include; Construction Committee for the new parking garage, Head of the construction/transition team from the Argosy Casino to the new Hollywood Casino, Compliance Manager, Risk Manager, Safety Manager, and Security Director at the Lawrenceburg Event Center and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

In September of 2017, Mark became the Assistant Director of Charity Gaming in Indiana.

Mark holds an Associate of Arts degree from Manchester College, a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State, a Master of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Master of Jurisprudence degree from IU’s McKinney School of Law. He is happily married to a saintly woman whom he met while investigating his first fatal traffic accident as a State Trooper (Yes, they met by accident). They have three children living in Indiana and Texas and a dog named Ditka.
