Today’s work environment is more complex, competitive and matrixed than ever before.  This requires that leaders care, collaborate, display empathy and flexibility in order to effectively engage multiple generations in the workplace.  Hence, these “soft skills” are no longer soft; they are leadership imperatives for success.  Additionally, these leadership traits are often (not always) part of what women uniquely bring to the workplace.  As a result, companies are well-served to implement an intentional culture of inclusion that fosters diversity and encourages leadership opportunities for women.  This session outlines 5 leadership insights for building exactly that kind of culture.

In this session participants will:
  1. Understand that “soft skills” are leadership skills that are essential to building high engagement work cultures.
  2. Consider the following five leadership insights for leading authentically and inspiring an inclusive and committed workforce.
    1. Know thyself.  Leaders who can articulate their strengths, weaknesses and purpose are more likely to inspire genuine commitment and foster true collaboration.
    2. Connection before content.  Personal vulnerability builds trust.
    3. “Perspective-taking” saves, solves and sustains.  Protect time for “getting up on the balcony.”
    4. Turn to wonder.  Always be curious and ask thought-provoking questions.
    5. Do less but more.  Because you always have a choice.
  3. Identify relevant strategies and take-aways for transforming their own work cultures.
Discover why the skills we often overlook or discount can be a valuable leadership tool your organization can't afford to pass up.
