Formerly known as Trend Camp, the newly branded “Trend E” will explore a new trend impacting the association industry each year, with the “E” standing for something different. In 2019, the “E” stands for Effective Cross-Generational Marketing.

One Size Does NOT Fit All: Nailing Generational Marketing at Your Association

As we move into a new decade, associations are shifting their marketing strategies and the ways they communicate now that four generations are sharing the workplace: Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z.

Aside from being born within different time frames, all four have unique likes, wants, and preferences. In order to effectively communicate with those generations - whether you’re trying to reach an existing member, recruit a prospect, promote your conference, etc.- those likes, wants, and preferences must be factored in.

But what exactly are those likes, wants, and preferences? How is marketing to a Baby Boomer different from marketing to a Millennial? How are we preparing for Generation Z to enter the workplace? In this session, we’ll go over all of these and more. You’ll learn common characteristics of each generation, how to approach each generation from a marketing perspective, and how you can leverage technological trends to make generational marketing a breeze.
